Bible Comparison

Today, I am comparing and reviewing both the Inspire Bible by Tyndale and the Beautiful Word Coloring Bible by Zondervan. I’ve taken pictures of common illustrated verses in both Bibles so you can see differences and similarities between the two Bibles. In the images of the two Bibles, Inspire is on the top, Beautiful Word is on the bottom.

Both Bibles have various line art illustrations for the reader to color while connecting with the Word of God. Both Bibles also have lined 2” margins for pages that don’t have any illustrations on them.

Some differences between the two Bibles include: the Inspire Bible has cream pages and the Beautiful Word Bible has white pages;

 the Inspire Bible has an elastic band that can keep your Bible closed (I chose not to use mine); at the beginning of every book, the Inspire Bible has illustrations on each one, while the Beautiful Word doesn’t have illustrations on every book title page;

the Inspire has beautifully printed end papers that you can color, but the Beautiful Word has very simple already colored end papers.

One thing I really like about the Inspire is their index of designed scripture. The Beautiful Word only has an index divided by artist, which is cool in its own way.

The Inspire has 392 illustrated verses (I counted what was listed in the index. There are some illustrations that are floral, but not verses. These are not listed in the index); Beautiful Word has 437 illustrated verses (I’m going to assume that all the ones listed in the index are verses that have been illustrated). The Beautiful Word is NIV; Inspire is NLT.

One thing I really like about the Inspire is that there is a large print edition available, which I bought for my mom so we could illustrate our faith together. Something I found unique about the Beautiful Word is the amount of full-page illustrations. The Inspire has a few full-page illustrations, but it seems that there are more full-page illustrations in the Beautiful Word.

 I’m not going to tell you my favorite of the two. I hope this answered some basic questions about the two Bibles. If you have any more questions, ask, and if I can answer them, I will. Hope you have a wonderful day!
